In plain words

My mind and my body do business only with the One.

Soaked in loving devotion, I sing the One's praises, and the world cannot knock me around.

When your heart is anchored, the world's ups and downs cannot knock you over.
The deeper layer

My whole self trades in only one thing, the One, and that keeps me steady.

Bi-uhaar means trade or business. Man tan raam ko bi-uhaar pictures your whole self as a shop that sells only one thing: the One.

Paraym bhagat means loving devotion. Soaked in that love and praise, a person is pohat nah sansaar, not knocked around by the world. This is the rahaa-o, the "pause" line, the center of the shabad.

That doesn't mean they feel nothing. It means their roots hold. Think of a boat with a good anchor. The waves still move, but the boat doesn't drift away. That steadiness is sahaj, the calm of a heart held by something that doesn't shake.

A Question to Sit With

What keeps you steady when things around you keep changing?
