With palms pressed together, Nanak begs for this blessing: O Lord, please save me in the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy. ||2||76||99||

You lift up the fallen and love Your devotees; be kind to Your humble servant.
With folded hands, Nanak asks for one gift: carry me across in the Sangat.
Your mistakes do not disqualify you — you can always be lifted out and made clean.
Patit paavan means the One who purifies those who have fallen — grace received, never earned. Bhagat bachhal is the One who loves the devotees the way a parent loves a child. And again the ask is for saaDhsang — to be carried across by the Sangat rather than by one's own strength.
The Sangat — people gathered together to remember the One — is where it is easiest to find the way back.
A Question to Sit With
When you have messed up, what helps you believe you can start fresh instead of staying stuck?
