Servant Nanak is the slave of Your slaves; over and over again, he bows in humble reverence to You. ||2||89||112||

In plain words

All day and all night, I get to sing the wonders of the One and turn the perfect Word over in my heart.

Nanak says: I am the servant of Your servants, and again and again I bow, my heart overflowing with thanks.

The journey from restless wanting ends in bowing — from gratitude, not fear.
The deeper layer

Singing to the One all day long, and bowing again and again, is how a thankful heart lives.

Aath pahar means all eight watches of the day, around the clock. Pooran sabad beechaar means thinking deeply about the perfect Word.

Daasan daas means "servant of servants." It is about belonging and humble love, not being owned. There is joy in being among those who love the One.

Punah punah namaskaar means bowing again and again. It is thankfulness spilling over, not fear.

Think of hugging your grandmother over and over at the airport because you are so glad to see her. The long journey from restless hunger ends here in thankful belonging.

A Question to Sit With

What in your life makes you want to say thank you, over and over?
