In plain words

When the One becomes kind and caring, you find the Sangat.

Nanak says: there I found the wealth of the One's feet. My whole self took on the color of the One's love, the way a white cloth soaks up dye all the way through.

Grace first brings the Sangat, and the Sangat dyes you in the color of love.
The deeper layer

Kindness from the One often shows up as the Sangat.

"Bha-ay kirpaal" means when the One becomes kind. Grace comes first. And its first gift is saadhoo sang, the Sangat — people gathered together to remember the One.

Then Guru Arjan finds har charan raas, the wealth of the One's feet. The feet stand for humble closeness to the One.

"Lagaa prabh si-o rang" means dyed in the color of the One's love. Think of a white T-shirt dipped in dye. The color does not sit on top. It soaks all the way through. Love for the One is like that.

A Question to Sit With

How do the people you spend time with change the “color” of who you are becoming?
