My mind is pierced through by the Love of Your Lotus Feet; this is everything to me - I enshrine it deep within my being. ||1||

Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa

In plain words

You are endless — far beyond anything I could ever measure or fully understand.

And yet love for you has gone straight through my heart like an arrow. That love is everything to me now, and I keep it safe, deep inside.

You do not have to fully understand the One to love the One.
The deeper layer

You can love the One without fully understanding the One.

Bay-ant means endless. The One is past all knowing. Still, love for the One's lotus feet, charan kamal preet, goes right through the heart. Once it does, it becomes the dearest thing. It is kept deep inside, antar raakhee.

Think of a baby who loves their mother. The baby cannot understand her work, her thoughts, or her whole life. The love is still complete. You don't have to understand the One to love the One.

A Question to Sit With

Have you ever loved something you could not fully explain?
