In plain words

I have set down all the other work I used to chase, and simply come to rest in the One's shelter.

Nanak says: my Master meets me and holds me close, and I win the Guru's favour.

Come to rest, and you are met and held close.
The deeper layer

When we set down our busy chasing, we are met and held close.

Suaamee gar milay means the Master hugs me close. In the tradition, this is the wedding picture of the soul and the One. Its heart is simple: being met, and belonging. Anyone can feel that closeness.

Think of running into the arms of someone you love after a long day. You don't have to explain anything. You just belong. Rest and belonging come when the busy chasing is put down.

A Question to Sit With

When have you felt fully welcomed and held, exactly as you are?
