Verse 2 of 3

Never Far Away

ਨਹ ਦੂਰਿ ਪੂਰਿ ਹਜੂਰਿ ਸੰਗੇ ॥
nah door poor hajoor sangay.
You are not far away; You are totally present with all.
ਸੁੰਦਰ ਰਸਾਲ ਤੂ ॥੧॥
sundar rasaal too. ||1||
You are Beautiful, the Source of Nectar. ||1||

Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa

In plain words

You are not somewhere far off. You are completely here, right beside me, filling everything.

You are beautiful, and You are the source of all sweetness.

The One is not far away; the One is right here.
The deeper layer

The One is never far away.

Nah door means "not far." Poor means fully present. Hajoor means right here. Sangay means alongside. The verse says it four ways so we won't miss it. The One is closer than we think.

Think of your own heartbeat. It is with you all day, even when you forget it. Rasaal means the source of all sweetness, and the One is that too.

A Question to Sit With

When do you feel most that something good is close by rather than far off?
