Intoxicated with Maya and its riches, involved in corrupt pleasures, you have not sought the Sanctuary of the Lord. ||1||Pause||

Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa

In plain words

Why let your life slip through your fingers?

Swept up in chasing things and shallow thrills, you do not come to the shelter of the One.

The days are precious; do not let them slip by unnoticed.
The deeper layer

Kahaa nar apno janam gavaavai — why let a life slip away? The mad, the intoxication of Maya, is named as what makes the time run out unnoticed. The warning is gentle: the days are precious.

A Question to Sit With

What is one thing you would be sad to look back and realize you never made time for?
