say dar saachai saach kamaaveh jin gurmukh saach aDhaaraa.
In the Court of the True Lord, they practice Truth. The Gurmukhs take the Support of the True Lord.
ਮਨਮੁਖ ਦੂਜੈ ਭਰਮਿ ਭੁਲਾਏ ਨਾ ਬੂਝਹਿ ਵੀਚਾਰਾ ॥੭॥
manmukh doojai bharam bhulaa-ay naa boojheh veechaaraa. ||7||
The self-willed manmukhs wander, lost in doubt and duality. They do not know how to contemplate the Lord. ||7||

In plain words

Those who face the Guru lean on Truth and live it out, standing steady wherever they are.

A mind turned only on itself drifts, pulled in two directions, and never quite stops to look deeper.

One heart leans on Truth; another drifts between many things.
The deeper layer

There are two ways to walk: leaning on Truth, or drifting on your own.

Say dar saachai saach kamaaveh — in the presence of the True One, they live out Truth. They are the gurmukh, people whose faces are turned toward the Guru. Saach adhaaraa — Truth is their support.

On the other side is the manmukh, the mind turned only toward itself. Doojai bharam bhulaa-ay — it wanders, lost in doubt and pulled two ways. Naa boojheh veechaaraa — it does not stop to think deeply.

These are two ways of being, not a judgment on anyone's worth. Anyone can turn around. Think of a sunflower that follows the sun, and one that faces the wall. Turn it, and it can find the light too.

A Question to Sit With

What do you lean on when things feel uncertain?
