Countless Names, No Edge to Find

anik Dharam anik kumayr.
Many righteous judges of Dharma, many gods of wealth.
anik baran anik kanik sumayr.
Many gods of water, many mountains of gold.
anik saykh navtan naam layhi.
Many thousand-headed snakes, chanting ever-new Names of God.
paarbarahm kaa ant na tayhi. ||7||
They do not know the limits of the Supreme Lord God. ||7||

In plain words

Countless keepers of what is right, countless holders of great wealth, countless golden mountains, countless voices singing ever-new names for the One.

And after all of that counting — all those countless beings naming and praising — not one of them ever reaches the edge of the One. There is no edge to reach.

No matter how much you count and name, you never reach the edge of the One.
The deeper layer

dharam-raajas (keepers of what is right), Kubers (wealth), Varuns (water), golden Sumers, and thousand-headed serpents voicing ever-new names — even they never reach the ant, the limit. Every name in the long list leads to one point: there is no edge to find.

A Question to Sit With

Is there something you love that you could never fully describe, no matter how many words you used?
