Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa
The One behind everything is greater than you could ever fully grasp — and that is wonderful, not frightening. When you catch even a glimpse of it through the Guru's Word, you blossom, and a deep calm settles inside you.
Look closely and you begin to see the same One everywhere, in everything and everyone. Nanak says: whatever pleases the One is what happens, and all of life moves together in the One's will — and you are part of it. There is nothing to do but blossom, and belong.
Pauri 36 (Fourth Mehl) — the closing pauri of the whole Vaar, marked Sudh, meaning correct and complete. vadaa aap agamm — the Great One is inaccessible yet wholly good; gazing through the Shabad, one blossoms (vigsiaa) and inner tranquility (saant) comes. sabh aapay aap vartdaa — the One pervades all and is present in everyone (bhaaee). All move under the Hukam, the flow of existence (sabh chalai rajaaee). A serene, unified close: awe, blossoming, belonging.
Where do you catch glimpses of everything being connected?
