O Nanak, they are united with the Word of the Shabad; serving the Lord, the Great Giver, they shall never be separated from Him again. ||2||

In plain words

There is one Giver behind everything, and that same One draws every life gently toward itself, like a current that always flows home.

Nanak says those who meet the One through the Shabad, the Guru's Word, are never apart again. Those who serve the great Giver with love stay joined, held close and never let go.

The One that gives you everything also draws you gently home and never lets go.
The deeper layer

The One who gives everything also brings everyone close.

Sabhnaa daataa aap hai aapay maylanhaar — the One is the Giver of all and the One who unites. Sabad milay na vichhurheh — those joined through the Shabad, the Guru's Word, do not drift apart again. Serving the great Giver is how that closeness stays.

A Question to Sit With

What does it feel like to be held close by something that will never let you go?
