In plain words

Some people are so settled inside that nothing can knock them over, because their hearts keep returning to what is true. There is room for the One in every part of them — not just their thoughts, but their whole being, moment after moment.

When you live that way, your life becomes worthwhile, and whatever weighed on you quietly washes clean. Nanak says: remember the One who lives forever, and you touch something in you that does not fade or die — a steadiness that lasts.

When your heart keeps returning to what is true, nothing can knock you over.
The deeper layer

Pauri 25 (Fourth Mehl). asthir jag — eternally stable in this world. rom rom har uchrai: every hair, the whole being, attuned to the Naam. gurmukh janam sakaarthaa — a fruitful, worthwhile birth; amraa pad, the state that never dies, is a steadiness that does not fade.

A Question to Sit With

What is something true you can come back to when your day gets shaky?
