In plain words

When you live by the Guru's word, you find a peace deeper than any other kind of good feeling — the sweetest peace of all. It is the ease that comes from not fighting your own life.

And something else happens too: fear starts to fall away. When you live the way the Guru lives, worry loosens its grip. Nanak says: you will cross over the things that once seemed too hard.

Living by what you trust is what finally quiets your fear.
The deeper layer

Shalok, Third Mehl. gur kaa kahi-aa jay karay sukhee hoo sukh saar — living by the Guru's word brings the very essence of peace. gur kee karnee bhau katee-ai: acting in accordance cuts away fear (bhau), and paavahi paar — one is carried across. Peace and fearlessness are the fruits of trust put into action (sahj).
