In plain words

Almost everything wears out over time — toys break, clothes fade, even the newest things get old. But there is one thing that never grows old and never gets dirty: Truth, and the Naam, the living sense of the One. It stays fresh forever.

When you walk in step with the Guru's will, you settle into that lasting thing and stop being tossed back and forth. Nanak says: forget the Naam, and you keep coming and going. Keep it near, and you keep something that time cannot touch.

Everything else wears out — Truth stays forever new.
The deeper layer

Shalok, Third Mehl. sach puraanaa naa thee-ai, naam na mailaa ho-ay — Truth (sach) never ages and the Naam is never soiled, while what is passing (jhooth) wears out. Forgetting the Naam keeps one coming and going (aavan jaanaa), tossed back and forth. gur kai bhaanai chalai: walking in harmony with the Guru's will.
