Mother, father, spouse, children and wealth will not go along with you in the end.
ਕਹਤ ਕਬੀਰੁ ਰਾਮ ਭਜੁ ਬਉਰੇ ਜਨਮੁ ਅਕਾਰਥ ਜਾਤ ॥੪॥੧॥
kahat kabeer raam bhaj ba-uray janam akaarath jaat. ||4||1||
Says Kabir, meditate and vibrate on the Lord, O madman. Your life is uselessly wasting away. ||4||1||

The people you love most, your parents and family, and everything you own, stay behind when you go. Not even they can travel this last road with you.
Kabir says: keep the One close now, today. Do not let this precious life drift by while you look the other way.
Love your people fully, and keep the One closer still.
Not even the people we love most travel the final road with us. The old word ba-uray (crazy one) is a warm nudge to wake up, and janam akaarath (a wasted life) is a caring warning against letting a precious life drift by unnoticed. The remedy is simply to keep the One close now.
A Question to Sit With
