ਹਰਿ ਬਿਨੁ ਕਉਨੁ ਸਹਾਈ ਮਨ ਕਾ ॥
har bin ka-un sahaa-ee man kaa.
Other than the Lord, who is the Help and Support of the mind?
ਮਾਤ ਪਿਤਾ ਭਾਈ ਸੁਤ ਬਨਿਤਾ ਹਿਤੁ ਲਾਗੋ ਸਭ ਫਨ ਕਾ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
maat pitaa bhaa-ee sut banitaa hit laago sabh fan kaa. ||1|| rahaa-o.
Love and attachment to mother, father, sibling, child and spouse, is all just an illusion. ||1||Pause||

There is only One. And the One is found by the True Guru's grace — a gift that is always here, waiting for an open heart.
Without the One, who holds up the mind?
The pull we feel toward mother, father, brother, child and spouse is a passing spell.
Love your people, and rest your weight on the One.
When the mind needs steadying, what holds it? The people we love are precious, but their love shifts and passes (fan, a passing spell). Only the One is the ground that never moves. Family stays dear, and the One stays the unshakeable center.
