Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa

In plain words

Night and day, speak the praises of the One.

You receive every treasure, every comfort and success, and the fruit your heart wishes for.

A heart that keeps turning toward the One in song quietly fills up.
The deeper layer

Keep singing the goodness of the One, day and night, and the heart fills up.

This is the rahaa-o, the "pause" line. It is the center of the whole shabad, the line everything else circles around. It invites constant remembrance, all day and all night.

The verse promises wealth, joys and success. These are not a prize for good behavior. They are the natural fullness of a heart that keeps turning toward the One. Think of a phone left on its charger: it is simply full. The mind's true wishes are met from inside, not chased outside.

A Question to Sit With

What is a habit that leaves you feeling fuller rather than emptier?
