Anything For One Glimpse

jap tap sanjam punn sabh homa-o tis arpa-o sabh sukh jaaN-ee.
Chanting, penance, self-control, good deeds and charity - I sacrifice all these in fire; I dedicate all peace and places to Him.
ayk nimakh pari-a daras dikhaavai tis santan kai bal jaaN-ee. ||2||
One who helps me to behold the Blessed Vision of my Beloved, for even an instant - I am a sacrifice to that Saint. ||2||

In plain words

Every good and disciplined thing I could ever do — I would gladly give it all up for just one thing.

If someone could help me see the One I love, even for a single heartbeat, I would treasure that person above everything. One true glimpse is worth more than all the rest.

One true glimpse of what you love can be worth more than all the striving.
The deeper layer

The seeker offers to give up all the usual spiritual currencies — chanting, penance, self-control, charity — for one instant of the Beloved's vision. These practices are means, and the seeker values the end — the meeting itself — above all the means. Devotion clarifies what it is after.

A Question to Sit With

What is one thing you long for so much that other things feel small beside it?
