Free from Needing Everyone's Approval

unH kai bas aa-i-o bhagat bachhal jin raakhee aan santaanee.
God, the Love of His devotees, has come under the control of those who protect the honor of His Saints.
kaho naanak har sang man maani-aa sabh chookee kaan lokaanee. ||2||8||31||
Says Nanak, my mind is pleased and appeased with the Lord, and my subservience to other people has come to an end. ||2||8||31||

In plain words

The One who loves the devoted comes close to those who honor the saints.

Nanak says, my heart rests happily in the One now, so I no longer need to bend and beg for everyone else's approval.

When your heart rests in the One, you stop needing everyone’s approval.
The deeper layer

Bhagat bachhal — the One who loves the devoted — stays near those who protect what is good and true. And once the heart rests happily in the One (man maani-aa), a quiet freedom arrives: chookee kaan lokaanee, the constant need for everyone else's approval falls away. Resting in the One, you stop having to bend for every opinion.

A Question to Sit With

What would change if you needed other people’s approval a little less?
