Listening to His Praises, my mind is in utter ecstasy, and my heart is rid of pride and pain.

I have found peace, and my pains have been taken away, since I became one with God. ||1||

In plain words

When I listen to the goodness of the One, my mind fills up with a bright joy. The old ache of pride and pain quietly loosens its grip.

Peace arrived, and the hurt drifted far away. It all happened because I stopped feeling separate and became one with the One.

Listening closely, letting something in, can lift a weight you have carried a long time.
The deeper layer

Deep listening to the One's goodness can lift pride and pain away.

Suniai means listening. It is not just hearing. It is the kind of attention that lets something in. That listening does real work here. Maan dukh — pride and pain — are lifted from the heart.

The verse also says why peace comes. Ban aa-ee prabh tohan — "I became one with You." Hurt eases as the feeling of being apart melts away.

Think of listening to a friend you love on a long phone call. After a while, your worries feel smaller. You feel close, and the closeness itself brings calm.

A Question to Sit With

What is the difference, for you, between just hearing someone and listening closely to them?
