that He has become kind and compassionate to me. He is the Destroyer of pain; He does not allow the hot wind to even touch me. ||1||Pause||

In plain words

Meeting the Guru, I learned to hold the One in my heart, and everything changed.

The One grew kind and gentle with me, lifting away my pain, until not even a scorching wind could reach me to harm me.

When your heart is rooted, even the harshest wind cannot reach the peace inside you.
The deeper layer

Taatee baa-i-aa — the hot wind, an image of harm or trouble that cannot touch the sheltered heart. Hard things still come. The deeper safety is a heart so rooted that trouble cannot reach its center. Dukh bhanjan, the breaker of pain, is felt here as kirpaal da-i-aal — kind and compassionate.

A Question to Sit With

What helps you feel safe on the inside even when things around you feel stormy?
