The One is beautiful, wise, beyond compare, the maker of everything. And yet sometimes my heart has not even a drop of love turned that way.
My dazzled mind gets charmed by shiny, passing things. It is as if I had sipped something that made me forget what is real.
An honest look at ourselves: the One is so lovely, and still our minds wander off.
The One is sundar, beautiful; chatur, wise; and anoop, beyond compare. The One is also bidhaatay, the Maker of everything. And yet the heart has not even a tiny bit of love turned that way.
Why? The baavar man, the dazzled mind, gets charmed. Jhooth thag-uree paa-ee — it has swallowed the sweet trick of falsehood. That trick is Maya, the pull of passing things. Like a spell, it makes what passes look as if it will last forever.
Think of a flashy ad on a phone. It grabs your eyes, and a moment later it is gone. Just naming that pull honestly is the first step to loosening it.
What is something shiny that grabbed your attention but did not matter much once you looked closer?
