I have obtained all treasures within the home of my own heart; says Nanak, my light has merged into the Light. ||2||21||44||

Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa

In plain words

The One who lifts away pain grew gentle with me, and I found my place among the saints.

Nanak says, every treasure I had wandered off to find was inside my own home all along, and my little light melted into the great Light.

The treasure you wander off to find is usually waiting inside your own home.
The deeper layer

Every treasure was at home all along.

Bha-i-o da-i-aal — the One became kind. The One is the dukh hartaa, the one who takes pain away. And a place to belong is found with the santan, the saints who love the One.

Then comes the discovery. Sagal nidhaan gharai meh paa-ay — all treasures are found inside one's own home, the home of the heart.

The last image is jot samaa-ee. Jot means light. My own small light melts into the great Light. It is like a wave remembering it was always part of the ocean.

A Question to Sit With

What is something valuable that is already in your own home — your family, your life — that is easy to overlook?
