This body is Yours, all my home and wealth are Yours; I offer my heart as a sacrifice to You. ||1||

In plain words

How lucky I am, how blessed to be joined to the One and given a place of honor.

This body is Yours, my home and everything in it is Yours — and my heart, most of all, I offer to You as a gift.

Offering back what was always the One's turns out to feel like relief.
The deeper layer

Everything I have already belongs to the One, and that comes as a relief.

This is a verse of happy giving back. Tan is the body. Garihu is the home. Dhan is wealth. The verse says all of them are already the One's. Then the heart, hee-u, is offered as a gift.

Think of holding a borrowed bike very tightly, afraid it will get stolen. Then you learn the owner loves you and is keeping it safe anyway. You can loosen your grip.

What we hold so anxiously is already safely held by the One.

A Question to Sit With

What is something you hold onto tightly that might feel lighter if you held it a little more openly?
