In plain words

Lucky is the person who comes to the shelter of the One.

They know no one else but the One, and they set every other scheme down.

Resting in the One quiets the endless search for the next fix.
The deeper layer

It is great good luck to come and rest in the One, and to set down every other fix.

Aavai raam saran means coming into the shelter of the One. The verse calls it vadbhaagee, great good fortune. This is the rahaa-o, the "pause" line, the center of the shabad.

Aykas bin means "other than the One." Such a person knows nothing else to lean on. Avar upaav ti-aagee means they set down all the other schemes and tricks.

That is not a loss. It is relief. Think of trying ten different keys on a locked door, then someone hands you the right one. All the anxious trying stops. There is one steady place to rest.

A Question to Sit With

What is something you keep chasing that a little rest might quiet?
