Hold this wisdom in your heart, mind of mine, and let it settle all the way in.
Become someone who serves the True One — quietly helping, quietly here, glad to belong.
This is the Rahao, the "pause" line. It is the center of the whole shabad, the line everything else turns around.
It says two things. First: aisaa gi-aan japahu man mayray — hold on to this wisdom, my mind. Gi-aan means wisdom, real understanding. Japahu means keep repeating it, so it sinks all the way in. Second: hovhu chaakar saachay kayray — become one who serves the True One. A chaakar is a helper or servant.
Serving here is about closeness, not about being small. Think of a kid who helps in the kitchen at a big family dinner. Helping doesn't make them less. It makes them part of the family's work, close to everyone. That is the kind of serving this line means.
What is one small way you could serve or help someone today?
