sabday pateejai ank bheejai so mahal mehlaa antray.
Confirmed in the Shabad, with her being softened by devotion, the bride dwells in the Mansion of the Lord's Presence, deep within her being.

Through the Word of the Guru's Shabad, the mortal is united, and then embellished; the unstruck melody of the sound current resounds.

gur mahlee ghar aapnai so bharipur leenaa. ||8||
One who finds the Guru's Mansion within the home of his own being, merges in the All-pervading Lord. ||8||

In plain words

The one who finds the Teacher's mansion inside their own heart melts into the One who fills everything. Real service flows when the heart is settled and content in the True Word.

When the Word convinces the heart and love softens it, the deepest home is found within — a mansion inside the mansion of the self.

The Maker is the one doing it all, present without a gap from beginning to end. Meet the One through the Teacher's Word, and life turns easy and bright, with that soundless flute-music playing inside. The one who finds the Teacher's mansion within melts into the One who fills all.

The sacred home I am looking for is found deepest inside my own heart.
The deeper layer

gur mahlee ghar aapnai — the Teacher's mahal, mansion, is found ghar aapnai, in one's own home, the heart. so mahal mehlaa antaray — a mansion within the mansion: the sacred is not out there but inmost. sabday pateejai ank bheejai — when the Word convinces and the being is softened (bheejai, drenched). anhad beenaa — the unstruck flute, the inner music of a settled heart. The teaching gently overturns pilgrimage: the destination is interior.

A Question to Sit With

Where is a place you feel most at home — and can you find a little of that feeling inside yourself?
