Why pour praise on the things that were made? Praise instead the One who made them and watches over them. His worth is beyond any measuring, no matter how much we might wish to weigh it.
Only the One can reveal His own worth; He makes no mistakes and is never fooled. And the one who truly celebrates is simply the one You love, through the priceless Word of the Teacher.
I come low and empty-handed to make my request — but I will never let go of the True Name. The One who made the creation watches over it, and it is that same One who grants understanding.
keetaa ki-aa salaahee-ai — why praise the made thing? Praise kar vaykhai so-ee, the One who made and watches. His keemat, worth, cannot be priced. We render heenau neech karau baynantee not as self-abasement but as honest lowliness before something immeasurable: I come empty-handed — yet the resolve is firm, saach na chhoda-o, I will not release the True Name. The closing ||9||2||5|| seals the whole ashtapadee: praise flows to the Maker, and even the understanding to praise is His gift.
What is something amazing that people made — and who or what made the makers able to make it?
