How Could I Ever Feel Apart?

ਹਰਿ ਆਪੇ ਲਏ ਮਿਲਾਇ ਕਿਉ ਵੇਛੋੜਾ ਥੀਵਈ ਬਲਿ ਰਾਮ ਜੀਉ ॥
har aapay la-ay milaa-ay ki-o vaychhorhaa theev-ee bal raam jee-o.
The Lord unites me with Himself; how could I feel any separation? I am a sacrifice to the Lord.
ਜਿਸ ਨੋ ਤੇਰੀ ਟੇਕ ਸੋ ਸਦਾ ਸਦ ਜੀਵਈ ਬਲਿ ਰਾਮ ਜੀਉ ॥
jis no tayree tayk so sadaa sad jeev-ee bal raam jee-o.
One who has Your Support lives forever and ever. I am a sacrifice to the Lord.
ਤੇਰੀ ਟੇਕ ਤੁਝੈ ਤੇ ਪਾਈ ਸਾਚੇ ਸਿਰਜਣਹਾਰਾ ॥
tayree tayk tujhai tay paa-ee saachay sirjanhaaraa.
I take my support from You alone, O True Creator Lord.
ਜਿਸ ਤੇ ਖਾਲੀ ਕੋਈ ਨਾਹੀ ਐਸਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਹਮਾਰਾ ॥
jis tay khaalee ko-ee naahee aisaa parabhoo hamaaraa.
No one lacks this Support; such is my God.
ਸੰਤ ਜਨਾ ਮਿਲਿ ਮੰਗਲੁ ਗਾਇਆ ਦਿਨੁ ਰੈਨਿ ਆਸ ਤੁਮ੍ਹ੍ਹਾਰੀ ॥
sant janaa mil mangal gaa-i-aa din rain aas tumHaaree.
Meeting with the humble Saints, I sing the songs of joy; day and night, I place my hopes in You.
ਸਫਲੁ ਦਰਸੁ ਭੇਟਿਆ ਗੁਰੁ ਪੂਰਾ ਨਾਨਕ ਸਦ ਬਲਿਹਾਰੀ ॥੨॥
safal daras bhayti-aa gur pooraa naanak sad balihaaree. ||2||
I have obtained the Blessed Vision, the Darshan of the Perfect Guru. Nanak is forever a sacrifice. ||2||

In plain words

The One draws me close — so how could I ever feel apart?

Whoever leans on Your support truly lives, fully and always; and that support comes from You alone, and no one anywhere is left without it.

Together with good people I sing songs of joy, resting all my hope in You day and night — I have seen the Perfect Teacher, and I would give anything in thanks.

Held by the One, no one is ever truly left without support.
The deeper layer

ki-o vaychhorhaa theev-ee — once held by the One, separation loses its footing. jis tay khaalee ko-ee naahee: no one is empty of this support; it is universal, not rationed. safal daras, the fruitful sight of the Guru — a meeting that bears fruit. Hope (aas) here is trust placed well, not anxious wanting.
