The Unstruck Music in the Heart

pa-orhee.
Pauree:
dar mangat jaachai daan har deejai kirpaa kar.
I am a beggar at Your Door, begging for charity; O Lord, please grant me Your Mercy, and give to me.
gurmukh layho milaa-ay jan paavai naam har.
As Gurmukh, unite me, your humble servant, with You, that I may receive Your Name.
anhad sabad vajaa-ay jotee jot Dhar.
Then, the unstruck melody of the Shabad will vibrate and resound, and my light will blend with the Light.
hirdai har gun gaa-ay jai jai sabad har.
Within my heart, I sing the Glorious Praises of the Lord, and celebrate the Word of the Lord's Shabad.

The Lord Himself is pervading and permeating the world; so fall in love with Him! ||15||

In plain words

I am a beggar at Your door, asking for a gift; please, in Your kindness, give it.

Through the Guru, unite me, Your humble servant, with You, so I receive the Naam.

Then a music no one plays begins to sound inside, and my light blends with the Light.

In my heart I sing the One's praises and celebrate the Word.

The One is moving through the whole world, so fall in love with the One!

Draw close to the One, and a quiet music begins to play inside.
The deeper layer

anhad sabad = the unstruck melody, the inner music heard in deep alignment. jotee jot dhar = light merging in Light. jag meh vartai aap, har seti preet kar = the One pervades all, so love it — devotion as the natural response to seeing the One everywhere. Open-handed asking, not shamed begging.

A Question to Sit With

Have you ever felt a quiet music of contentment inside, with no sound at all?
