My real friends are the ones who walk beside me the whole way, not just when things are easy.
And when everything I have done is finally counted up, they are the ones still standing right there with me.
Real friends are the ones who stay all the way to the end.
The Rahao names true friendship: sajan say-ee — real friends are those who walk with you, and jithai laykhaa mangee-ai tithai khrhay disann — stand beside you when everything is finally accounted for. Nanak points past fair-weather company to what lasts.
A Question to Sit With
Who are the friends you know would stand beside you no matter what?
