In plain words

The Name of the One is my one and only support, the ground I stand on.

Keep me however You see fit, my Master. There is no one else for me; You are all I have.

When the Name is your ground, you rest in the One's keeping.
The deeper layer

This is the heart of the shabad: the Name is the one thing I lean on.

This line is the Rahao, the "pause" line. It is the center of the whole shabad, the line everything else circles around. Mai har har naam Dhar so-ee means "the Name is my Dhar," my support, the ground under my feet. Think of a floor you never think about until you step on it. It holds you up all day without asking anything.

Ji-o bhaavai ti-o raakh means "keep me however it pleases You." This is full trust in the One's care. It is saying yes to Hukam, the Divine order, the way life flows. Mai tujh bin avar na ko-ee: without You, I have no one else.

A Question to Sit With

What is the solid ground you come back to when everything else feels shaky?
