In plain words

You alone are my strength, and the only court where I bring my case. It is to You that I turn and pray.

There is no other place for me to bring what is inside. I share my sorrows and my joys with You and no one else.

The One is both your strength and the place you bring everything you feel.
The deeper layer

Guru Ram Das is saying: You are the one I bring everything to, the hard days and the happy ones.

Mai taan deebaan toohai means "You are my strength and my court." Taan is strength. Deebaan is a court, a place where you bring your case and are heard. It is also a place of shelter.

Dukh sukh tujh hee paas means "my pains and my joys are with You alone." Think of the one friend you text first when something big happens, good or bad. Here the One is that friend, the one who hears it all.

A Question to Sit With

Who or what do you turn to when you need to share both your worries and your joys?
