Soohee, Fifth Mehl:
ਗੁਰੁ ਪਰਮੇਸਰੁ ਕਰਣੈਹਾਰੁ ॥
gur parmaysar karnaihaar.
The Guru is the Transcendent Lord, the Creator Lord.
ਸਗਲ ਸ੍ਰਿਸਟਿ ਕਉ ਦੇ ਆਧਾਰੁ ॥੧॥
sagal sarisat ka-o day aaDhaar. ||1||
He gives His Support to the entire Universe. ||1||

The Guru — the light that leads from darkness — is one with the Maker of all things.
That One holds up the entire universe, giving support to everything that exists, all at once.
The same One holds up the whole universe — and you are part of it.
gur parmaysar karnaihaar — the Guru identified with the parmesar (Supreme) and karnaihaar (Creator). sagal sarisat ka-o day aaDhaar — giving aaDhaar (support) to all creation. The vast, upholding presence.
