Wherever I look, I see the Lord as my companion and helper. ||1||

Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa

In plain words

The One is my friend, my companion, like family to me — closer than any relative.

Wherever I turn to look, that One is right there beside me, helping.

The One can be family that goes everywhere with you.
The deeper layer

meet saajan sut banDhap bhaa-ee — the One as friend, companion, child, kin, sibling. jat kat paykha-o har sang sahaa-ee — everywhere, the One as sahaa-ee (helper). Belonging that does not depend on people.

A Question to Sit With

Who feels like family to you, even if they are not related by blood?
