The Song That Never Ends

ਸੁਣਿ ਬੇਨਤੀ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਦੀਨ ਦਇਆਲਾ ॥
sun bayntee parabh deen da-i-aalaa.
Hear my prayer, O God, O Merciful to the meek.
ਸਾਧ ਗਾਵਹਿ ਗੁਣ ਸਦਾ ਰਸਾਲਾ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
saaDh gaavahi gun sadaa rasaalaa. ||1|| rahaa-o.
The Holy Saints ever sing the Glorious Praises of the Lord, the Source of Nectar. ||1||Pause||

Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa

In plain words

Hear my prayer, kind One.

The good and loving are always singing Your praises — a song that never really stops, endlessly sweet.

Somewhere, the good are always singing — you can join in anytime.
The deeper layer

sun bayntee parabh deen da-i-aalaa — hear the prayer of the deen dayaal. saaDh gaavahi gun sadaa rasaalaa — the saadh ever sing praises of the rasaal (source of sweetness). This is the Pause line.

A Question to Sit With
