Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa

In plain words

I sing about the kind One who holds the whole world — and I ask, quietly, to catch a glimpse, to really see.

Take care of me the way You always do. My whole self, body and breath, belongs to You anyway.

Everything I am already belongs to the One I am longing to see.
The deeper layer

This pauri merges the rahaao with the first verse. gobindaa gun gaao da-i-aalaa and darsan dayh (grant me the sight) form the pause; then jee-o pind sabh tumraa — soul and body are all Yours. The plea for darsan, a glimpse of the face, is Soohee's most characteristic longing.

A Question to Sit With

What is something you long to see or be near, even from far away?
