Enjoying It All, Held by None

ਬਹੁ ਬਿਧਿ ਰੂਪ ਰੰਗ ਆਪਾਰਾ ॥
baho biDh roop rang aapaaraa.
He fashioned it in various ways, with limitless colors and forms.
ਪੇਖੈ ਖੁਸੀ ਭੋਗ ਨਹੀ ਹਾਰਾ ॥
paykhai khusee bhog nahee haaraa.
He watches over it with joy, and He never tires of enjoying it.
ਸਭਿ ਰਸ ਲੈਤ ਬਸਤ ਨਿਰਾਰਾ ॥੧॥
sabh ras lait basat niraaraa. ||1||
He enjoys all the delights, and yet He remains unattached. ||1||

In plain words

The One shaped it all in endless colors and forms and watches it with delight, never once growing tired of it.

It tastes every flavor, enjoys everything there is — and yet stays free, not caught or held by any of it.

You can enjoy everything fully and still stay free inside.
The deeper layer

The One enjoys everything and is held by nothing.

Baho biDh roop rang aapaaraa — the One made endless forms and colors. Paykhai khusee bhog nahee haaraa — the One watches with joy and never grows tired. Sabh ras lait basat niraaraa — tasting every delight, yet staying free of it all.

Think of a kid who loves every ride at the fair but can leave when it's time to go home, still happy. That's enjoying without clinging. The One is fully in the fun and completely free at the same time.

A Question to Sit With

Is it possible to enjoy something a lot without being controlled by it?
