Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa

In plain words

Let me do the plain, ordinary work for these good people - fan them, carry their water, help with the grinding. None of it is beneath me.

This is my one prayer: just let me be near them, let me get to see the ones who love You.

Even the plainest work becomes a gift when done near the good.
The deeper layer

pakhaa fayree, paanee Dhovaa, peesan pees - fanning, carrying water, grinding: humble seva as a spiritual practice, dignity in ordinary labour. baynantee - the prayer; daykhan paavaa - may I gain the sight of the holy.

A Question to Sit With

Has a small task for someone you love ever felt bigger than it looked?
