In plain words

There is only One. And the One is found by the True Guru's grace — a gift that is always here, waiting for an open heart.

To be alive as a human being, awake and able to wonder — this is a rare and precious thing, not something to waste.

And a life turned toward the teaching gets colored all the way through, deep and warm, like cloth soaked in a rich red dye. That color is love.

A human life is a rare chance — precious enough to color all the way through.
The deeper layer

This one says a human life is a rare chance, too precious to waste.

Maanas janam dulambh means a human birth is dulambh, very hard to come by. Gurmukh paa-i-aa says the gurmukh, the one turned toward the Guru, truly receives it.

Then comes a picture from dyeing cloth. Chulambh is the deep red of madder, a dye that soaks all the way in and never washes out. Man tan ho-ay chulambh means the mind and body get soaked in that color of love.

Think of dropping a white T-shirt into a bucket of red dye. It comes out red all the way through, every thread. A human life is the chance to be colored like that by love.

A Question to Sit With

What makes being alive feel precious to you?
