One who praises the True Lord with his mind and body, pleases the Mind of the True Lord.
ਲਾਲਿ ਰਤਾ ਮਨੁ ਮਾਨਿਆ ਗੁਰੁ ਪੂਰਾ ਪਾਇਆ ॥੨॥
laal rataa man maani-aa gur pooraa paa-i-aa. ||2||
Attuned to the Beloved Lord, the mind is appeased, and finds the Perfect Guru. ||2||

In plain words

When I praise the Real One with my whole self — not just my mouth but my mind and body together — something answers back, glad.

And my restless mind, always hunting for the next thing, finally goes quiet and content. It has found what it was looking for.

When you praise with your whole self, the restless mind finally settles.
The deeper layer

This one says praise with your whole self brings a restless mind to rest.

Man tan sach salaahi means praising the True One with mind and body together, not just with the mouth. Saachay man bhaa-i-aa says this pleases the True One.

Laal rataa man maani-aa means the mind, dyed in the laal, the Beloved, becomes maani-aa: settled and satisfied. It is close to mannai in Japji Sahib, which means trusting deep inside.

Think of a puppy that races around the whole house, then finally curls up in its owner's lap. The mind is like that. It stops hunting when it finds what it was looking for, the Perfect Guru.

A Question to Sit With

What is something that quiets your mind when it will not stop racing?
