In plain words

I cannot see the whole way, and the Name is my walking stick.

I lean on my Master's support, and the pull of shiny, passing things cannot trick me.

When I cannot see the whole road, the Name is the cane I lean on.
The deeper layer

This verse says the Name is like a walking stick for someone who can't see the whole road.

This is the Rahao, the "pause" line. It is the center of the shabad.

Mai andhulay har naam lakutee tohnee: I cannot see, and the One's Name is my stick and staff. None of us can see the whole road ahead. A person who can't see uses a cane to feel each safe step. The Name works the same way.

Raha-o saahib kee tayk na mohai mohnee: I stay leaning on my Master's tayk, support, and mohnee can't trick me. Mohnee is Maya, the pull of shiny, passing things. Think of walking past a candy aisle while holding a parent's hand. The hand keeps you steady.

A Question to Sit With

What do you lean on when you cannot see how things will turn out?
