In plain words

This body of mine is more wonderful than I usually notice. The One I love actually lives right here inside it.

I hold the sacred word close and stay warm in that love. The puffed-up sense of a separate self quietly burns off, like morning fog in the sun.

Your body is precious because the One you love lives right inside it.
The deeper layer

Your body is beautiful because the One you love lives inside it.

Kaa-i-aa kaaman at su-aaliha-o: the body is pictured as a very beautiful bride. Pir vasai jis naalay: she is beautiful because her Beloved lives with her. So the body is honored as the home of the One, never looked down on.

Gur kaa sabad samHaalay: she keeps the Guru's Word close. Ha-umai vichahu jaalay: and ha-umai, the puffed-up "me, me, me" feeling, burns away from inside.

Think of morning fog lifting when the sun comes out. The fog does not have to be pushed. The warmth of love simply makes it disappear.

A Question to Sit With

What changes when you think of your body as a home for something sacred?
