The One Who Feeds Everything

ਦੇਸੀ ਰਿਜਕੁ ਸੰਬਾਹਿ ਜਿਨਿ ਉਪਾਈ ਮੇਦਨੀ ॥
daysee rijak sambaahi jin upaa-ee maydnee.
He who created the Universe, gives sustenance to it.
ਏਕੋ ਹੈ ਦਾਤਾਰੁ ਸਚਾ ਆਪਿ ਧਣੀ ॥੧੦॥
ayko hai daataar sachaa aap Dhanee. ||10||
The One Lord alone is the Great Giver. He Himself is the True Master. ||10||

Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa

In plain words

The same One who made this whole world also feeds it — every creature, every day, held and provided for.

There is one great Giver behind it all, and the giving never stops. Knowing that, I can carry my worries a little more lightly.

The One who made the world keeps feeding it, always.
The deeper layer

daysee rijak sambaahi jin upaa-ee maydnee — the One who created the world also supplies its sustenance; ayko hai daataar — there is one Giver, the True Master. The Giver-keeps-giving theme: creation and provision flow from the same source.

A Question to Sit With

What is something you're given every day that's easy to take for granted?
