A Little Crazy With Longing

ਨਾਨਕੁ ਵਿਚਾਰਾ ਭਇਆ ਦਿਵਾਨਾ ਹਰਿ ਤਉ ਦਰਸਨ ਕੈ ਤਾਈ ॥੧੨॥
naanak vichaaraa bha-i-aa divaanaa har ta-o darsan kai taa-ee. ||12||
Poor Nanak has gone insane, longing for the Blessed Vision of the Lord's Darshan. ||12||

Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa

In plain words

I've gone a little wild with wanting — not for anything I can buy, but for one true glimpse of the One I love.

It's the kind of longing that fills your whole chest. When you want something that much, everything else goes quiet.

The deepest longing can make everything else go quiet.
The deeper layer

naanak vichaaraa bha-i-aa divaanaa, har ta-o darsan kai taaee — gone "mad" (divaanaa) with longing for the darshan. The love-madness of viraha: a wanting so total that all lesser wants fall silent.

A Question to Sit With

What's something you've wanted so badly it filled your whole mind?
