Crossing Any Ocean

samund saagar hovai baho khaaraa gursikh langh gur peh jaa-ee. ||14||
Even though the oceans and the salty seas are very vast, the GurSikh will cross over it to get to his Guru. ||14||

Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa

In plain words

Even if the ocean is wide and very salty, the Guru's Sikh crosses it to reach the Guru.

No crossing is too hard when what you love waits on the far side.
The deeper layer

samund saagar hovai baho khaaraa, gursikh langh gur peh jaa-ee — though the salt sea be vast, the gursikh (the Guru's Sikh, the Guru's learner) crosses to reach the Guru. Distance and difficulty are no obstacle to a heart that has found what it loves.

A Question to Sit With

What's a hard "crossing" you'd make for something that mattered enough?
