If You seat me near You, then I worship and adore You. Even if You beat me and drive me out, I will still meditate on You. ||8||

If the One draws me close and seats me near, my heart overflows with love and thanks.
And even if I feel pushed away or left out in the cold, I don't stop loving. My love isn't a trade for good treatment — it just stays.
Love that isn't a trade doesn't stop when the treatment changes.
jay paas bahaaleh ta tujheh araadhee, jay maar kadheh bhee dhi-aa-ee — whether seated near or turned away, I adore You the same. The harsher "beat and drive out" is softened; the point is a love that isn't a transaction dependent on being treated well.
A Question to Sit With
Can you love someone even when they're not being kind back? What's that like?
