Thought, Word, and Deed All Pointing One Way

ਮਨ ਬਚ ਕ੍ਰਮ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਏਕੁ ਧਿਆਏ ॥
man bach karam parabh ayk Dhi-aa-ay.
One who meditates on the One God in thought, word and deed
ਸਰਬ ਫਲਾ ਸੋਈ ਜਨੁ ਪਾਏ ॥੬॥
sarab falaa so-ee jan paa-ay. ||6||
- that humble being receives the fruits of all rewards. ||6||

In plain words

When my thoughts, my words, and the things I actually do all point the same way — toward the One — my whole self lines up.

And a life that is lined up like that receives everything it truly needs. Nothing important goes missing.

When my thoughts, words, and actions point the same way, my whole self lines up.
The deeper layer

When thought, word, and action all point toward the One, life bears every good fruit.

Man bach karam parabh ayk Dhi-aa-ay — keep the One God in mind with your man, your mind, your bach, your words, and your karam, your actions. Sarab falaa so-ee jan paa-ay — that person receives sarab fal, all the fruits.

Think of a rowing team. When everyone pulls the same way, the boat glides. When some pull one way and some the other, it just spins. When what we think, say, and do line up, we are whole. That wholeness is itself the reward.

A Question to Sit With

Is there a place where what you think, say, and do do not quite match — and how could they line up?
