Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa

In plain words

The One shaped this little life and made it beautiful, and kept the small child safe.

So let the mother and father celebrate, for the Giver of every life is watching over this one.

A child kept safe is reason for the whole family to rejoice.
The deeper layer

This one is a song of thanks for a child kept safe.

Paarbarahm saaj savaari-aa: the Highest One made this child and made them beautiful. Ih lahurhaa guroo ubaari-aa: the Guru kept this little one safe. Lahurhaa means a small child.

Then comes a happy call to the parents: anad karahu pit maataa. Mother and father, celebrate! It is like the moment a family hears good news and hugs right there in the hallway.

Why celebrate? Parmaysar jee-a kaa daataa: the One is the Giver of every life.

A Question to Sit With

What is a moment your family celebrated together with real relief and joy?
